What we have accomplished so far

Purchase of 60 ha (136 acres) of land

We have purchased 60 hectares or about 136 acres of land to date, constructed a church and community center with the capacity of 400 people that holds community events, meetings, educational events, and worship services, and in addition, have built a large Elementary/Middle school. We are hoping to soon have a separate middle school building. We will then be able to increase attendance in our elementary school.

In 2006 we constructed an Elementary and Middle School building that can accommodates 350 children 227 enrolled at the moment. We have built a 42 room dormitory holding 300 students. Currently in use since 2012. The school today employs 28 faculty members. The City of Praise Kalimantan is an ongoing humanitarian work, with a proven track record of successful accomplishments located in a community that truly appreciates the services that are being offered.  The staff are truly dedicated and committed to the task and the children are keen to learn and to do their lessons. Enough uniforms and shoes for them to wear but we always made the best out of all situations, really feeling God’s blessing on us by Faith.

The Mini Hospital / Clinic

The Mini Hospital is scheduled to be built after the first High School building is erected. Both projects are part of the same goal to serve the community. Your partnership in building this will eventually change thousands of lives for good. We have employed two RNs whom were able to study for five years due to the grant donated by Light and Life Christian Fellowship in Long Beach, California.

Furthermore, the hospital will also be used by the City of Praise Cancer Research Foundation program. Its mission is to find cures and alternative medicine on a more natural way by using new modern techniques.

STUDENT SPONSOR

In our collaboration with Green Earth Vitamins, Inc (USA) we were able to receive support to sponsor Rina to complete her education in Pontianak. Rina has been with us since she was 7 or 8 years old. Rina's ambition is to complete her study and majoring in English. Rina stayed at the dormitory for many years and now in order to further complete her education she has to move to the main city which is about 3 hrs. drive from City of Praise. Her goals were very clear; to become a teacher in English. With the support from Green Earth Vitamins, Inc., she is now enrolled at the University in Pontianak, Indonesia. Upon graduating, Rina will become a teacher in English for the City of Praise school.

Dump truck purchase:

Our first heavy-duty, 4 ton dump truck Mitsubishi. I is said to be a very rugged and reliable piece of equipment. This is a used truck, bought at a cost of $12,000. We now have the ability to transport heavy materials into the City of Praise compound.

(Jalan Agape)

With our new (used) machinery we were able to build our first main road going into our educational facility. That road is "Agape Way" or "Jalan Agape" in Indonesian language. The whole construction was solely done by the City of Praise crew.  Shown in this picture are two of our USA City of Praise elders. Willem and Laura Maud Heyman. They came to visit on September 2015 to see the progress made. Willem and Laura have been working in the City of Praise, Borneo/ Kalimantan since 2001, and of course, as usual, Laura Maud is directing the flow of traffic.

The Lake

We are restoring all of the 10.3 water acres. All of this is possible because of the excavator we now own. This natural lake will be a highlight to our school and environment, where you can swim to our own island in the middle of the lake. We have stocked a count of 3000 fish- Gurami, Catfish, and Bass. Fishing will be aloud, however, only in fishing seasons. Our lake has two natural, clear-water springs with a natural runoff to the river.
